Jökulsárlón is a large glacial lagoon in southeast Iceland. It is situated on the edge of Vatnajökull National park, head of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, it developed into a lagoon after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The size of the lagoon has fourfold since the 1970s. It’s considered as one of the natural wonders of Iceland. The lagoon can be seen from highway 1 between Höfn and Skaftafell. The lagoon is one of the most visited destinations in Iceland. In spring, summer and autumn is possible to take a boat tour at the glacier lagoon, sailing among floating icebergs and seals.
